Welcome to Nordic Life in Urban Spaces! #NLiUS
Together with the Landscape Institute, Team Vestre is delighted to invite landscape architects, architects, urban designers, planners, leaders, placemakers, developers, engineers, and anyone else with an interest in the built environment to an evening of inspiration.
Meet the man behind the disruptive Parklets 2.0 that is replacing car parking in the Nordic cityscape. Ashley Conn was also the lead architect of the transformation of Aker Brygge, one of Oslo’s most interesting outdoor public spaces. Enjoy a mini-concert with up-and-coming Norwegian artist Hanne Mjøen. Food and drinks available for everyone. The event is free of charge but, as space is limited, please confirm attendance ASAP using the link below.
Where: Stockwell Street Campus, University of Greenwich, London
When: 6 pm, Thursday September 6th
Ashley Conn, partner and founder of Studio Oslo «Landscape Architects» is also one of the main drivers behind the collaboration with Vestre – Parklets 2.0. Ashley has been instrumental in major development projects in Oslo including the redevelopment of Aker Brygge into what it is today. With the introduction of the Parklets 2.0 in 2017 Oslo took decisive steps towards a car-free city centre.
Hanne Mjøen is a name that has started to make a buzz in the Norwegian music scene. With singles like “Future”, “U” and “The City”, the Oppdal-raised artist has been on national radio all throughout 2017. Only a short while after her debut as an artist, the highs have not been far apart for the young songwriter. Concerts at festivals such as Vill Vill Vest, Slottsfjell and Findings has put the wheels in motion, assisted by international media such as The Independent.
