Vestre is making a return visit to Clerkenwell Design Week on 24-26 May to present furniture from this year’s collection, My Town. Meet Team Vestre and take the opportunity to enjoy spring at a Scandinavian ‘fika’ in historical St John’s Square.
Vestre invites everyone to enjoy the London spring with us in St John’s Square, where we are installing our vision of a public and social meeting place in the metropolis.
“Design is most interesting of all when it is made accessible to everyone,” says Vestre’s CEO, Jan Christian Vestre. The world’s cities are growing faster than ever before, so green lungs and recreational areas are becoming ever more important:
“We at Vestre see what we do as something of a democratic project, because it is in the urban space and park that people from all levels of society and cultures can come together socially.
This is the second time that Vestre has taken part in the annual design festival held in the Clerkenwell area of east London. The area is regarded as one of the most influential design hubs and has the highest density of architects and creative agencies per square metre anywhere in the world. Clerkenwell is home to more than 200 firms of architects, and upwards of 80 international design firms have set up showrooms in the historical neighbourhood. In just three hectic days, more than 35,000 visitors from 70 countries, 65 percent of them architects, landscape architects and designers, will hunt out the 80 or so showrooms.
