Kunsthaus Graz

About the project

The former inaccessible courtyard of the Kunsthaus Graz was temporarily designed to increase the value of a public open space and better integrate it into the urban environment. The project draws first and foremost attention to the new entrances to Lendkai and offers new opportunities for visitors. The concept of the temporary exhibition zone was developed by the landscape architectural office Topotek 1 Berlin, and thermoplastic floor markings run radically from the sidewalk to an entrance each. Various town furniture has been delivered from Vestre – 11 benches, 3 trash cans, 4 bicycle racks, 2 ashtrays – which can be used by the audience during the installation periode. Focusing on modern design, Kunsthaus also wishes to actively contribute to Graz as a UNESCO City of Design.
