Life on Land

Vestre almost exclusively uses environmentally certified Scandinavian timber from what may be considered the world’s most sustainable forests.

Sustainability goals:

Loss of rainforest is a global problem

Vestre uses environmentally-certified timber from what is probably the world’s most sustainable forestry sector. As rainforest loss is a global issue, we do not offer tropical timber. In 2017, Vestre launched the world’s first Nordic Swan Ecolabelled urban furniture. Today, over 350 of our products carry this Ecolabel, and we have no intention of stopping there. We have developed the COAST bench, the world’s first bench made from ownerless marine plastic, in collaboration with Ogoori – a startup which aims to develop sustainable value chains for collecting and recirculating ownerless marine plastic.
