Powder coating and RAL in 1-2-3

Powder coating developed for the North Sea

Before Vestre’s products are powder-coated, they undergo pre-treatment involving extensive cleaning. This process takes place in several steps with spray nozzles which apply degreasing, purified water and activators. The powder coating does not contain solvents and is applied electrostatically using powder coating robots, and manually if necessary. The powder is then melted in a curing oven which gives the product its final appearance.

The process was developed for the Norwegian offshore industry to ensure a very high standard of finish which meets the strict requirements of corrosion class C5 (coastal areas with high salinity, high humidity and aggressive atmospheric corrosion). We are therefore confident in offering leading guarantees, with a 15-year guarantee on powder coating and a lifetime guarantee against rust. All furniture is powder-coated at The Plus, the world's most environmentally friendly furniture factory in Magnor, Norway.

RAL chart and colours

RAL is a colour system developed in 1925 by Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung e.V to create a simple system for displaying different colours. It began with 40 colours, but now consists of nearly 200 RAL Classic colours.

Vestre powder coats all RAL Classic colours in gloss 12 finish as standard, at no extra cost. The G12 finish we use has a textured and matt surface, giving it a more exclusive look. It is also less prone to visible scratches and minor damage, which ensures protection at all stages – handling, transport, installation on site and use.

For a small surcharge, our products can also be supplied powder-coated in other colour systems and with a unique gloss.

Note: Look at the RAL chart and colour samples in daylight for the most accurate colour experience. Also note that colours displayed on a screen may deviate slightly from the colour of the final product.
