Jack London Square, California

Jack London Square is the primary location in Oakland for physical and visual access to the waterfront. It is also Oakland’s only ferry port, as well as being home to lots of great restaurants. The objective behind redesigning the area was to make the square more accessible and modern. Colourful furniture from Vestre has been used to draw people into the area and ‘divert’ attention from grey lampposts and other disruptive elements.

Jack London Square’s importance for Vestre:
- It once more demonstrates just how suitable Vestre’s furniture is for promenades
- The project opted for many different configurations of the Bloc range, with long benches, benches back to bank, single benches and litter solutions
- The timber used in the project is Kebony.
- We recommend everyone to explore the area and enjoy the great view from our Bloc sunbenches. The area is easy to reach from downtown Oakland and San Francisco.
